“2 Ways to Connect on Clubhouse”

Add Value instead of Promoting your Business or Brand.

Clubhouse is an emerging app right now. I love the way rooms are creating space for entrepreneurs. I love to call the spaces I enter “meeting rooms.” When I’m in a meeting room, there is a mixture of experience and knowledge in these meeting rooms. There will be times when you can explain what you do as it relates to the conversation. There is a space for everything. As an expert in your industry, you might be tempted to start speaking about your business or brand. This can enable you to be long-winded with your responses. However, long-winded responses can cause you to come off as unauthentic or leading with your sales instead of how you add value in the meeting rooms. Allow entrepreneurs to see you as a person rather than a business owner. Start leading with your heart not your pockets. You have words that will enable you to tap into the vulnerability and authenticity that you can express. Be yourself and offer the world a piece of you!

Take the Time to Listen in Meeting Rooms

When you are in rooms, it’s important to listen and learn. Even before you speak, listening can set the stage for you to contribute in a unique way that is phenomenal. When you are taking the time to process what is being said, you are learning about others by slowly reacting instead of acting. Our minds work very fast so we need to slow down and listen before we react because we could miss out on great information. Most times, we browse over the title of rooms and forget about the information in circulation. If you’re in a rush to contribute, you could be throwing off the energy in the room. I made a few mistakes in the beginning. Afterwards, I was able to define my own schedule. Most importantly, I curated my own space by truly owning my narrative. This gave me power to listen to others and speak too when it was time.

I’m glad to give in ways that are internally and externally resourceful. I believe adding value in a room and listening to the gems being discussed are some of my favorite ways to connect on Clubhouse.
